In this post, I reflect on the bittersweet moment of my child getting her driver's license. While relieved that I no longer have to drive her everywhere, I suddenly realize the loss of those precious moments spent in the car together - talking, singing along to favorite songs, and being a part of each other's lives. I reassure fellow moms to take a deep breath and remember that it's now their child's turn to embark on their own journey. With a glass of my favorite drink and some Dixie Chicks playing in the background, I find solace in the knowledge that she will come back, and she needs to embrace the freedom and wide open spaces that lie ahead.
